Contract \ Contract-to-Hire Technical Writer (Location Independent)
Job Description
**TERM: This is a 6-12 month contract position with option to hire full-time.**
RocketTheme is looking for a talented technical writer who thrives working remotely with a small, talented and dedicated team utilizing modern web development technologies. Scope of contract will include a wide variety of documentation work ranging from user guides, blog posts, product announcements, web site content, FAQs, release notes and much more.
Standard Requirements:

* Gifted hard-working writer who can work quickly and efficiently in English
* Ability to create documentation from scratch with limited existing material
* Digital portfolio of prior works
* 5+ Years of relevant experience
* Good experience with modern web technologies (HTML, CSS, PHP, JavaScript, etc)
* Strong understand of HTML, Markdown and other web publishing formats
* Good English communication skills
* Ability to work independently and with remote developers
* Good sense of humor
* Ability to work remotely (Instant messaging, Skype, etc)

* Programming experience
* Experience working with SCMs such as Github and SVN
