Duties & Responsibilities
The Technical Writer interprets drawings and extracts pertinent information relating to the creation of Installation, Operation and Maintenance manuals. Interviews SME’s to gain a better understanding of various equipment operations. Prepares finished material suitable for publication. Reviews and provides both hardcopy and electronic preparation techniques. Creates and maintains consistent publishing standards and file archives. Ensures records and files are maintained in designated product line database. Recommends revisions or changes in scope, format, content, and methods of reproduction and binding. Assists in the selection of photographs, drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts to illustrate material. Assist with information gathering of records and other information used to update and maintain oversight of all pending projects.
Qualifications:
QualificationsBachelor’s degree in related field plus a minimum of five (5) years experience related to the creating of technical documentation; or equivalent combination of education and experience. To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word, Excel and Acrobat. Must have familiarity with AutoCad and Solidworks sufficient to extract and reproduce material. Experience with Photoshop and/or Illustrator sufficient to manipulate/edit 2D & 3D images and photographs.
