Full-Time Technical Writer

Tech writing isn’t easy… you just make it look that way.
Based in State College, Pa, Optical Image Technology is a leader in the electronic document management software industry, and we need a technical writer to help communicate all the goodness to others.
We need somebody who speaks Tech and can translate it into User, and vice-versa. Somebody who can write software specifications, user manuals, FAQs, release notes, training materials, process flowcharts, proposal responses and any other sort of technical document needed. Somebody who thrives in a hard-working team of developers, software engineers, quality analysts, support gurus, and the best customers in the business. But mostly, we need somebody who can write, and can write well.
The nitty-gritty details: You should have a degree in a tech or writing-related field and/or a minimum of two years or more professional experience writing and editing technical documents, either software user manuals or tech-related training materials. You should have experience with MS Word, Photoshop, Visio, PowerPoint, and Windows(all flavors). Familiarity with Robohelp, Windows Help, reStructuredText, and/or markdown is a plus. You should know your way around HTML, and the more ECM, SQL, and distributed computing concepts you know, the better.
The position is onsite in State College only.
