As a part of the Data Management team, your job is to help define, plan, research and deliver assigned documentation that supports the efforts managed from our new Software Center of Excellence (based in San Ramon, California). Working from our San Ramon office, you will collaborate with Development and QE functions to produce and validate a range of high-quality deliverables for consumption by our internal technical customer base.
Essential Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

Be tasked with producing API guides, developer and administration guides
Write, edit/update new and existing platform-based documentation that is clear, concise, consistent, and easy for end users and application consumers to understand and apply
Work with the other writers on the team to track and manage project efforts, while participating in daily Scrum stand-ups, weekly meetings, and updating wiki pages, along with other tasks as directed by the Information Development Manager
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in English Studies, Journalism/Communications, Liberal Arts, OR “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics)
Minimum of 7 years of experience in technical writing position
Minimum of 2 years of experience documenting software in an Agile development environment
Minimum of 5 years of experience documenting software
Eligibility Requirements:

Ability and willingness to provide relevant writing samples & take writing assessment as part of selection process
Must be willing to work out of the San Ramon office
Ability and willingness to travel, as required

Excellent verbal and written skills
Professional communicator and collaborator with a keen eye for quality and detail, including strong working knowledge and application of style guidelines and industry practices
Track record of working with high velocity engineering organizations, both startups and large corporations
Ability to work under time pressure to meet frequent deadlines. Must be a “self-starter” with ability to work with multiple teams in cross-team collaboration
Experience writing about complex engineering topics. Ability to write to technical audiences. (Terms like JSON, OSGi, SOAP, and J2EE don’t scare you)
Ability to learn new technology quickly, experience in API or platform and services documentation
Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate well with development and QA teams
Hands-on experience with, and working knowledge of using an XML-based authoring tool preferred
Master’s Degree, and/or technical communications certification
