Technical Writer – Isilon Storage Division
The Isilon Storage Division of EMC is seeking a highly motivated Technical Writer to join our growing Global Services Publications team. The ideal candidate is a self-starter interested in working in a busy and dynamic environment where quality, attention to detail, customer service, and a professional manner are essential values. He/she must be a customer advocate who thinks in new and creative ways and somebody who thrives in an evolving, cutting-edge environment.
Responsibilities
Develop knowledge base (KB) articles and customer communications on technical topics related to product information and problem resolution
Design and develop best practices guides and troubleshooting guides
Design and develop content for video and other multimedia formats
Collaborate with members of cross-functional teams to develop knowledge content and to continuously improve knowledge-development processes
Qualifications
3+ years’ experience writing technical documentation in a complex hardware/software development environment
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, Computer Science, or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience
Ability to plan and manage a project throughout its lifecycle
Knowledge of technical writing standards and KB best practices
Strong analytical and organizational skills
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
Ability to collaborate with others, cross-functionally, in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines
Familiarity documenting Linux, UNIX, and Microsoft Windows environments
Experience developing documentation using HTML
Experience using RightNow CX and Adobe Dreamweaver preferred
