This requisition is for an Intel Contract Employee (ICE) assignment.

The Enterprise Content Solutions team is seeking a talented lead technical writer. Primary roles: coordinate with Subject Matter Experts to plan document projects; edit for grammar / format / technical / legal considerations; manage repository and entitlement, facilitate Shared PDF Review process, implement reuse strategies.
Information types include technical product architecture specifications: design specs, developer manuals, datasheets, hardware and software reference manuals, platform design guides, getting started guides, installation guides and more.
Content Planning, Development, Reuse, Localization and Delivery:
Participate in Product Development Teams and project planning and coordination meetings
Create and manage Technical Information Implementation Plans (TIIP)
Plan for content reuse: from IP Blocks, to Chassis, to Product, to Platform and generationally
Plan for content localization: partner with internal Globalization team on strategy and on project basis
Assess tasks and negotiate schedules; meet commitments to negotiated schedules
Edit for grammar, format, usability, legal, and technical accuracy
Create and/or edit technical and non-technical illustrations and graphics
Represent the Technical Communications team in internal and external programs
Apply knowledge of technical communications industry standards, policies and procedures
Adherence to Intel Corporate Requirements
Understand and adhere to Intel’s Information Security requirements
Understand and adhere to Intel’s Legal requirements
Understand and adhere to Intel’s Corporate Brand Identity requirements
Qualifications
5+ years with Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline
2+ years with a Master’s degree in a relevant discipline with more than two years of experience.
Previous experience may be considered in lieu of degrees.
Primary Tools Skills and Roles:
Use desktop publishing tools to create and manage “unstructured” technical documents, ranging in size from a few pages to thousands of pages
Apply expert skills with Microsoft Word* on MS Windows*-based PC
Apply Adobe* Acrobat* skills for PDF generation and shared review management
Use file management systems such as Sharepoint*, EMC Documentum* and/or structured XML content management systems
Other Tools and Skills include:
Acronlinx* for editing and terminology management
Microsoft* Office tools primarily Word*, PowerPoint*, and Excel*
Intel’s publishing processes, tools, and guidelines
Adobe* FrameMaker* skills are a plus; expertise with bookbuilding, conditional text, variables and scripting
Use XML authoring tools and Component Content Management System (CCMS) to create and manage “structured” information in conformance to DITA specifications
