Position Description 

We are seeking a Senior Technical Writer who will be a core part of the company’s communications effort from a technical perspective.  They will be responsible for writing and editing technical product documentation and related technical publications to communicate clear and effective technical specifications to a wide range of audiences.   As this role is responsible for the development of technology-heavy communications, the individual in this position should possess a technical background or knowledge in one or more of the following subject areas: Big Data, Software Development, Cloud, Virtualization, and IT Enterprise Architectures.

 

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Translate technical information into clear, readable documents to be used by technical and non-technical personnel
  • Translate technical capabilities of our solutions into high-impact materials that clearly communicate our products
  • Experience shaping and adhering to quality standards and documentation guidelines (CMMI preferred)
  • Gather, Analyze, and Compose technical information
  • Develop and manage product collateral including datasheets, whitepapers, case studies, and technical documentation
  • Meet with and Interview subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and material organization
  • Review, critique and edit documentation including design documents, programmer notes and system overviews

 

Knowledge, Skills & Ability Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s or higher degree a plus
  • Minimum 8-10 years of related experience in a technical role, or journalism or communications in a technical field
  • Knowledge of SOA
  • Experience in skillfully organizing and executing strategic communications in a highly technical subject area
  • Must have strong organizational and project management skills and excellent writing and editing skills
  • Knowledge and understanding of application of Big Data analytics highly desired
