BASIC FUNCTIONThe IT Process Coordinator and Technical Writer will be responsible for the research and writing of processes, procedures, and other related documents as well as providing technical and editing support. This position will work closely with various technology departments to review, update, and create new departmental procedures. IT Process Coordinator and Technical Writerwill utilize process improvement methodologies such as ITIL and Six Sigma to enhance the overall process documentation quality at GM Financial. |

JOB DUTIES
- Writing from scratch, editing, improving, and proofing technology processes and procedures
- Develop process flow diagrams, user-friendly graphical job aids, process narratives, and technical reference materials
- Lead process development and improvement projects for various technology departments
- Develop goals, milestones and manage timelines for document creation, approval and publication
- Maintain overall process documentation records including creation, revisions, reviews and archival
- Assisting in establishing style guidelines and standards for all process and technical documents
OTHER IMPORTANT DUTIES
- Conduct process documentation and improvement training as needed
- Participate in technology compliance related projects and activities
- Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge
- Working knowledge of corporate policies and standards
- Financial Services experience a plus
- Strong customer service focus
- Working knowledge of project methodology
- Strong coaching and guiding skills in the area of process improvement
- Expert knowledge and proficiency in using the Microsoft Office suite
- Expert knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft Visio or comparable process flow design tools
- Experience in a formal methodology for technology process improvement
- Strong knowledge of industry standard best practices for technical writing
Skills
- Advanced analytical and problem solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal communication and listening skills is essential
- Ability to handle multiple projects and clients at once
- Ability to negotiate delivery timelines, handle objections and counter professionally
- Ability to provide documentation samples considered a plus
- Excellent presentation skills
Experience
- 3 Years (or more) of technology experience
- 2-5 years of experience writing and editing technical content
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related field or equivalent work experience preferred
- Six Sigma Green Belt or higher preferred
