Position Summary The Instructional Technologist supports faculty use of instructional technology by analyzing needs; researching, evaluating and developing or recommending appropriate technology to meet those needs; and providing training, support and documentation. Responsibilities include collaborating with faculty, graduate students, departmental support staff, Help Desk and IT Support Consultants to provide access to and information about instructional tools. In addition the Instructional Technologist will investigate, recommend, and support appropriate instructional technology tools and will work closely with others in the group (Lead Instructional Technologist, Application Specialists, and Designers, among others) to assist in providing valuable, timely and effective support of faculty needs.Applicants please note: This is a one year position.
Job Qualifications 1 – 3 years experience in academic computing support as an instructional technologist or equivalent; experience in providing computing support at a college/university preferred.-Experience working with faculty to provide online and distance education preferred.

-Experience training users individually and within a group setting preferred.

-Experience with a course management system and other instructional technologies preferred.

-Experience with Google Apps for Education preferred.

-Experience with social networking applications preferred.

-Ability to understand and present complex technical issues.

-Excellent problem-solving and interpersonal skills.

-Ability to provide technical assistance and solve computing problems.

-Knowledge of PC and Mac hardware and operating systems.

-Ability to work effectively independently and as a member of a team.

-Excellent writing, editing and public-speaking skills.

-Experience with project planning and some project management skills preferred.

-Able to work autonomously.

-Able to work collaboratively in a team environment.

-Excellent customer service skills.

-Ability to adapt to changing technologies, changing priorities and the ability to handle multiple tasks at once.
