Job Description

Description: Provides instructional and program design expertise for the development and support of classroom and online courses, including internet and hybrid delivery courses and specialized educational programs. Responsible for managing instructional development process and assisting faculty in the design of curriculum and instruction that lead to student learning and engagement. Develop learning resources and retool courses and course segments to electronic delivery methods. Reports to the Associate Vice President for Outreach and Engagement.

Examples: Design and supervise production of learning resources in variety of formats including print, graphics, audio, video, and animation technologies to support curriculum offerings. Meet with instructional designers and program managers to insure timely completion and delivery of instructional design projects. Develop and institute logistical, instructional, and pedagogical policies for the creation and delivery of online courses. Provide professional and technical support and training to faculty and students. Collaborate with faculty on instructional design issues, provide design and production assistance in the development of electronic delivery methods, create web pages, and manage online and hybrid course development to ensure effective uses of multimedia optimal design in relation to student learning. Explore new technology advances and make recommendations for multimedia software for use by faculty and others. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Experience: Requires two or more years experience in course design, curriculum design, or e-learning, preferably in higher education. Experience with graphic and multimedia authoring software, website design software, and online course management tools. Experience in supervisory and managerial duties.

Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of principle and practices of instructional design and e-learning. Familiarity with multimedia and web design technology.

Education: Requires Master*s degree in instructional technology, education, communications, information technology, curriculum design or related field.

Additional Requirements: Strong service skills. Must have excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Must be customer service oriented and be able to work in a team environment.
