JOB DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a key member of our Product Management team – Technical Writer. If you can take complex product information and communicate it clearly, concisely and accurately without relying on overly technical or corporate jargon, you are the one.
You will be responsible for working with all the relevant teams: Product Management, Engineering, Support, Marketing, Consulting and members of the release launch team to research, learn and document the product features. You must have the skills and experience to coordinate all involved parties and produce release notes, user guides, blog posts, certifications and training materials for both the business-user-facing features as well as our technical platform documentation. You will be also closely working with our UX team to assure copy consistency throughout our product. When a new technical challenge rises to forefront, you will be there to diffuse it with your clarifying pen (or keyboard, more likely).

Responsibilities
• Own and manage development and maintenance of documentation and training tools for both the User Interface as well as the Platform. Deliverables will be a combination of text documents, in-product help and wizards and on-line tutorials.
• Work with the UX team on assuring that our product copy and messaging is simple, concise and consistent.
• Edit, clarify, and proofread documents written by others, and coach non-writers on ways to improve their writing skills.
• Perform thorough research and analysis to develop mastery of GoodData platform.
• Carry out assignments from beginning to completion with little assistance.
• Use documentation templates and style guidelines effectively to develop documentation that has a consistent visual and structural approach.
QUALIFICATIONS
• BA/BS in Journalism, English, Technical Communications, Computer Science, Engineering or related field.
• Excellent written/verbal communication skills with an eye for detail and mastery of tools necessary for delivery of outstanding materials (text and graphic editing tools).
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment.
• Ability to write for both business as well as technical audiences.
• Ability to effectively communicate and interact with all levels of the GoodData organization including cross-Atlantic communication with our development team in Europe.
• Startup DNA is critical.
• Passion for Business Decision Making, Data and Analytics is a must.
• Prior Business Intelligence, Analytics or other similar experience is a strong plus.
