Job Description

Overview:
Interstate Batteries, a nationally recognized “Best Place to Work” has an outstanding Sr Technical Communicator opportunity in Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities:
This position will provide technical communications expertise to the IT organization.  The technical communicator will be responsible to conduct interviews with project SMEs and stakeholders to gather documentation requirements and participate in project team meetings as necessary to develop quality documentation and other forms of communication media, for system solutions and end user reference.
Qualifications:
  • College degree in English, Journalism or other related field is preferred
  • Minimum 2+ years of previous writing experience; preferably in an IT environment
  • Minimum 2 years experience in technical writing in an IT related field
  • Minimum 2 years experience using Adobe FrameMaker
  • Experience using graphics editing software such as SnagIt
  • Experience using Captivate software to create “How to” videos
  • Experience using graphic software such as Visio.
  • Experience with Adobe Technical Writers Suite a plus
  • Work effectively in team environment
  • Ability to function well with moderate supervision
