Full-Time Senior Technical Writer: Chatter Documentation (San Francisco, CA)

Description: We’re a great team of writers who work collaboratively with developers, quality engineers, product managers, and usability experts to make our Chatter product easier for professional developers to integrate with. You’re a problem solver with excellent people skills who knows the needs of developers and will write easy-to-understand developer guides and online help. You can also create code samples, tutorials, videos, and other user assistance to help developers build apps on the Force.com platform. You’re a great match if you’re self-directed, passionate about technology, produce high-quality documentation, and understand how your work contributes to the overall success of the product. You’ll work with both remote and San Francisco-based teammates. You’ll use innovative technical communication tools and Agile methodologies to deliver the best work of your career!
Responsibilities: Create and update developer API documentation for our Chatter product.
Experience/Skills Required:
- 6+ years of experience writing developer-focused documentation for software development audiences, or equivalent experience writing or testing code and at least 2+ years of writing documentation
- Working knowledge of two or more: Java, C++, PHP, SQL, PL/SQL, .NET, SOAP, AJAX, C, JavaScript, Ruby on Rails, Flex, AIR
- Ability to meet tight deadlines with multiple deliverables
- Experience with IDEs, Web services technologies, APIs, RESTful design, SDKs, or object-oriented programming
- Great people and communication skills

- Bachelor’s degree in a technical or communications field
Experience/Skills Desired:
- Experience documenting SaaS applications or enterprise-class client/service software
- Track record of improving existing styles, processes, and teams
- Ability to read code, write your own code examples, and develop your own apps
- Experience with Eclipse
- Ability to work with management to establish goals and priorities
- Experience with source control software such as Perforce or ClearCase
- Experience with authoring tools such as Arbortext Editor
- Experience with video and image editing software
- Knowledge of DITA
