Full-Time Instructional Designer (Scotts Valley, CA)
Job Description
Under the direction of the Training and Development (T&D) Manager and in support of the T&D Steering Committee and Task Force, this position is responsible for designing and developing innovative and engaging eLearning and Instructor-Led Training Curriculum. Development will include content, training materials, eLearning modules, teaching aids and coordination of all aspects of curriculum design and development using a working knowledge of instructional design models and adult learning principles.
The Instructional Designer will develop/update curriculum, training materials, and guides using appropriate instructional design modalities and theory and will work alongside subject matter experts (SMEs) at all levels of the organization to ensure delivery of accurate and timely content. The Instructional Designer will apply alternative training mediums and methods (self-study, online, blended, simulations) to increase training effectiveness and to accommodate distance learning, learning style and cultural differences.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training experience in instructional design, computer science, engineering, business administration or related field experience and a minimum of four (4) years of experience in designing, developing and delivering in-person and online training courses in a health care setting (preferred) or any combination of education and experience which would provide the required knowledge and abilities. Certification in instructional design or performance consulting is strongly preferred.
