Job Description

This is an entry to intermediate-level position as an Instructional Designer within the Global Customer Services organization. The Instructional Designer will develop and maintain blended solutions for North American GCS product and operations training. The Instructional Designer works closely with other instructional designers, project managers, and internal clients. This position requires a standard amount of supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

• Utilize all aspects of the ADDIE model (and other applicable ISD models) to produce relevant and targeted training, specializing in Analysis, Design, and Development.

• Conduct detailed needs analysis with the ability to identify and report on root causes.

• Develop training objectives, content, experiences, and evaluations that are tied to detailed training analysis and performance objectives.

• Demonstrate creativity, flexibility, efficiency and innovation in course design as applied to experiential learning, e-learning, activities, games, scenarios, role-plays, and the like.

• Work as a professional partner and consultant when interfacing with internal customers to solve business problems in ways that meet the needs of all key stakeholders, including the learner.

• Revise and maintain existing materials.

• Work with/consult with Subject Matter Experts to ensure quality and accuracy of designs.

• Maintain open and streamlined communication with all staff involved in new initiatives and projects as related to training. Communicate with client, project management, product and policy managers, Global Learning Organization counterpartners, and other staff on all aspects of project from analysis to evaluation.

• Create training in compliance with key processes, style guides, and templates.

• Coordinate project tasks with management and team members as needed.

• Manage time, tasks, calendars, and development schedules as appropriate

Job Requirements

Job Requirements/Basic Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or equivalent experience in a training-related field

• 2 years of experience with eBay knowledge

• 1 year of experience with training at eBay or another company

• Ability to read and interpret technical and other complex tools and documents into material people will understand

 

 

Preferred Skills:

 

• Ability to design and storyboard eLearning content at a basic to intermediate level. Candidates with eLearning design and development experience are preferred.

• Design graphical layouts for e-learning, create some custom graphics, and other light to moderate graphic design tasks related to e-learning development.

• Knowledge of or experience with tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash) and Captivate or Camtasia a plus.

• Fluency in Spanish, Italian, French, or German is considered a plus.
