Job Description

In this position the copywriter is responsible for turning client messaging strategies into a wide variety of marketing copy deliverables. From interactive website copy and eBooks to educational blog posts and white papers, you will be responsible for creating compelling, lead-generating copy for Square 2 Marketing clients. The technical copywriter must possess the ability to brainstorm and develop written concepts within the confines of established marketing strategies for clients across a wide range of industries.

So what type of writer are we looking for? You eat, sleep and dream about marketing copy. Bad grammar makes you cringe. You take punctuation personally. In order to handle the fast-paced work environment, you should be extremely organized and capable of moving easily between client voices. The ability and desire to work closely with other writers and creative team members is a must.

Responsibilities

Here’s a summary of how Square 2 Marketing Technical Copywriters spend their days:

· Works closely with the Creative Director, the Content Director and the Marketing Consulting team to ensure client strategies are followed and reinforced
· Creates compelling messages, remarkable differentiation and engaging stories to move prospects and drive leads for our clients
· Delivers world-class copy that makes our clients say WOW!
· Creates compelling social media content for blogs, tweets, social networking sites, videos, eBooks and more
· Works closely with graphic designers to help creative pieces stay on concept and on message
Prerequisites

The successful Technical Copywriter candidate should possess the following key traits and attributes:

· B.A. in English or related field; additional business-related education a plus
· 4-8 years’ experience writing in an agency or in-house marketing department environment
· Deep understanding of corporate IT, including: network architecture, data security, software-defined networking, virtualization, cloud networking, data privacy, enterprise content management, mobility, systems integration, security integration, and surveillance technology
· Native to social media with expertise in writing for the web, including (but not limited to) websites, blog posts and emails
· Proven examples of past creative concepts and copy that produced measurable results
· Enthusiastic proponent of good writing standards and practices; keen awareness of appropriate tone and content of pieces
· Eagerness to keep up with developments in the field through both individual research and guided extended learning
· Strong verbal and written communications skills
Obsessive attention to detail and an ability to self-edit
