Full-Time Executive Content Producer (Evanston, IL)
Job Description
GENERAL OVERVIEW
We are a global nonprofit seeking an experienced executive content producer to oversee web content for a multi-language website. This person will work with a team to produce engaging content that meets the needs of multiple audiences and advances the mission of the organization. Candidates must have hands-on experience with key aspects of content strategy and management for consumer-facing websites, including content development, web writing, information architecture, taxonomies, SEO, document management, and content management systems (CMS). EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
- BA/BS or master’s in communications, journalism or related field
- 7-10 years’ experience with web content/publishing
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Strong editorial skills and proven ability to write effectively for the web and digital forms
- Understanding of how users interact with digital content and how to create great user experiences from a content perspective
- Extensive experience structuring, producing and maintaining web content for content management systems
- Ability to maintain an effective web content strategy through daily management of workflow and content creation
- Set and maintain standards for structured digital content that can meet varying user needs and standards and guidelines across system and platforms
- (web, mobile, tablet, etc.)
- High-level understanding of technical aspects of web content creation and publishing, knowledge of HTML, scripting, authentication, etc.
- Understanding how to repurpose previously generated content with a high-level awareness of strategic messaging and relevant digital forms
- Experience working with user-generated content and incorporating into overall site plan
- Familiarity with large-scale web projects and Agile methodology helpful
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiating and relationship-building skills
SPECIFIC DUTIES
- Produce clear, user-focused web content that expresses the brand and advances the strategic objectives of the organization
- Oversees content quality and production on a day-to-day basis
- Manages core and regional digital producers
- Collaborate with various stakeholders to translate business objectives into content strategy
- Maintain content standards and editorial guidelines in the digital space
- Oversee editorial workflow for the website
- Create engaging content appropriate for diverse audiences
- Assist in development of regionalized content approach and building team to support
- Supervise web writers and guide team in best practices of digital content creation and management
- Ensure content is managed and deployed effectively in CMS, including SEO, taxonomy, asset and document management and other tasks
