Job Description
Mocana is seeking an experience Technical Writer to join its team in San Francisco.
As an active member of the engineering team, the technical writer writes and edits developer and user documentation, helping our clients and their customers understand, evaluate, and use our products. The documentation set includes API references, developer guides, installation/deployment guides, technical notes, and user guides.
Responsibilities:
- Document new and existing products, working closely with the engineering team to obtain the necessary technical information.
- Maintain existing product documentation (including developer docs as well as consumer-facing user guides for non-technical users).
- Work with Product Management on deliverables and planning.
- Work with the QA team to resolve issues or bugs related to documentation.
- Collaborate with other technical writers to create, maintain, and improve existing and new technical documents.
Requirements:
- Wide-ranging technical writing skills, including API references, programmer guides, installation guides, and training documents
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to wrangle rather technical material
- Experience with content management systems
- Comfort with agile development processes
- Knowledge of version control and bug tracking tools
- 5+ years technical writing experience
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, English, or any related discipline
- Ability to excel in a fast paced start-up environment and meet aggressive deadlines
