We are currently looking for a Techwriter with hands on Subsea experience for a contract to hire role in Houston TX.  The Senior Technical Writer will work with subject matter experts to research and interpret schematics, technical specifications, and design diagrams to produce documentation that meets the proposed acceptance criteria. This role may be required to develop “white paper” documents from nothing more field sketches, process flow diagrams to non-specific documentation such as photographs.

Job Duties:

• Organize work and manage time in an efficient manner to complete work on schedule and on budget
• Communicate complex technical information, concepts, and procedures to technical and non-technical audiences
• Must be able to act as a professional representative of M&H Energy at all work related functions, meetings, job sites, or other client required event location
• Ensure documents comply with applicable federal and state regulatory agency standards including but not exclusive of OSHA, EPA, BSEE, DOT/PHMSA and USCG

Technical Skills Required:

• Ten (10+) years of industrial experience as an operator, maintenance technician, engineer, or supervisor required
• Must be knowledgeable of subsea operations, start up, and shut down
• Prior experience controlling subsea operations strongly preferred
• Must have at least five years of professional technical writing experience
• Ability to develop fundamental to advanced instructions for operation, maintenance and theory of operation for upstream production and midstream clientele
• Ability to support development of training modules and procedures based on fundamental to advanced operation, maintenance and theory of operation for upstream production and midstream clientele
• Must possess strong integrated thinking and problem solving skills
• Must be self-motivated with the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the proven ability to convey information and ideas in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to adapt writing style to meet defined guidelines and standards
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and work under time constraints and meet project deadlines
• Able to maintain strong attention to detail
• MS Word and Excel 2010 required (Intermediate to advanced user) as well as PowerPoint and Visio
