Full-Time Technical Writer/ Content Manager (Hawaii)
Job Description
Bishop & Co. is seeking qualified candidates for a direct hire Technical Writer/Content Manager role. Under general direction, this person will provide content development and formatting of electronic and ePaper documentation and materials.
Core Responsibilities:
-
Create flowcharts, schematics, maps, illustrations, charts, presentations, training materials, user guides, policy and technical manuals, and other online and printed materials to be used for technical, administrative or outreach purposes.

Collaborate on design and development of websites, workflows, business processes, and SharePoint systems
Minimum Qualifications:
-
High School Diploma/GED and some college or technical training required
-
5-8 years of directly relevant, full-time experience
-
Demonstrated proficiency in technical writing, including the following: IT Architectural Drawings (network, system, data model, physical/space plans, and “as built”s); business process and workflow diagrams; use cases and UML or similar models; formal SLDC related artifacts, including functional requirement documents, technical design documents, test cases, implementation plans, and RACIs

Familiarity with and experience in PMO writing, including Program/Project Management related artifacts such as project charters, project management plans, communications plans, risk plans, work plans, GANT charts, and project status reports

Familiarity with and experience in Documentation & Training writing including the following: technical operation guides; user reference & operation guides; user training materials and training courses; and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Desired Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject

Professional/technical training and/or certifications

Experience with network and server technologies including the following:

DNS and Domain Registration Management

Windows Server
-
Databases: MS SQL Server, MySQL, Access, Oracle.

MS SharePoint / MOSS
-
Linux and/or Mac OS
-
Web Servers such as IS, Apache, WebLogic, Websphere

Familiarity with and experience in UE/UI including creation of storyboards, wireframes, and GUI mockups; user interface specifications; web/GUI format guides for developers

Experience creating and managing websites including: web page design, website content management using a Content Management System (CMS); use of standard programming tools/technologies such as Java, ASP.NET, PHP, XML, HTML, Flash, Silverlight, and SharePoint

Familiarity with and experience in GIS, including Geospatialization of data, geospatial analysis, map creation and integration of maps into documents and websites.

Website localization and language translation needs

Web Microsites and Integrated Portal Systems

Use of specialized software products such as ESRI and AutoCAD
