Seterus, Inc. is seeking a Technical Writer who will either be an individual contributor or manager responsible for providing IT services in a billable project / engagement or providing technical support in a sales organization.As a manager, team leader, or working independently, advises others and assumes a technical leadership role in support of the solution construction, implementation, and system integration in a technology or industry specialty. Delivers high quality solutions to clients in response to complex business requirements. Performs many assigned technical tasks including study, analysis, design, programming, product installation, test and system integration. Has in-depth product, technology, or industry related specialized skills and is a strong technology or industry leader working with proposals, requirements, design, implementation and production projects / engagements. May design and develop the tools and methodologies used to manage, analyze, design and implement technical solutions.The Technical Writer provides analytical ability and creativity in developing and implementing solution deliverables for a medium to large sized project or major segments of a larger project. Provides technical advice to project managers and team leaders, and gives technical direction to team members including IBM, subcontractor, or client personnel. Often balances technical work assignments, team members’ technical skills and project / engagement / proposal risk while providing technical guidance to newer or less experienced team personnel. Leads in identifying new revenue producing product and/or IT services opportunities regionally and assists in selling hardware and software products where appropriate. Provides the detailed technical knowledge in the sale of complex hardware and software solutions. This position requires significant knowledge across multiple platforms, processes or architectures. Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Environment:
Applies knowledge of information technology and associated methods and tools of the IT Specialist profession to attain project / function / business unit objectives. Demonstrates the required proficiency levels for technical skills in area of specialty. Demonstrates required Senior IT Specialist proficiencies in technical skills.

Communication/Negotiation:
Advises other IT professionals (Project Managers, IT Architects, and IT Specialists) on tools, technology, and methodology related to the development and implementation of IT solutions. May be asked to research special topics as part of team responsibilities.

Works effectively with other team members. Guides and influences team members, including customer, vendor and subcontractor personnel, and IBMers from other functional areas, to accomplish the team’s technical and business objectives.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. At least 5 years technical writing experience, including development of:
– Technology audit/compliance documents (system security, change control, disaster recovery, etc.)
– Run books
– Business process flow modeling/mapping
2. User manuals
3. Technology/systems knowledge; able to understand application developers / system administrators and translate the discussion into written documentation
4. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
5. Expert MS Word user
6. Demonstrated ability to function under tight deadlines and work effectively as manager of a documentation team
7. Bachelors Degree

Additional Skills:
1. Experience working in a large corporate environment
2. Experience with financial services industry
3. Experience with SSAE, ASCA, ITSC104
4. SharePoint

Required
  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • At least 5 years experience in technical writing, including: development of technology audit/compliance documents (system security, change control, disaster recovery, etc.), run books, and business process flow modeling/mapping
  • Basic knowledge in understanding application developers / system administrators and translating the discussion into written documentation
  • Basic knowledge in expert-level MS Word
  • At least 6 months experience in working in a large corporate environment
  • At least 6 months experience in the financial services industry
  • At least 6 months experience in SSAE, ASCA, and ITSC104
  • Basic knowledge in SharePoint
  • English: Fluent
