Full-Time Technical Writer
Job Description
The Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking a technical writer to develop end-user software and hardware documentation. Work will include researching, writing, and editing reports, user manuals, software documentation, test plans, and presentations. The selected candidate will work directly with software and system engineers.
Required Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, or a related field
· Experience producing: user manuals, test plans, technical reports, and other professional technical documentation
· Proficiency in MS Office
· Proactive and able to work effectively with little direct supervision
· Work productively alone and in a team
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Able to meet tight deadlines
· Must be able to obtain a DoD security clearance
· Must be a US citizen
Preferred Qualifications:
· Experience in creating documentation for software or other engineering fields
· Experience using: Adobe FrameMaker, InDesign, and other Adobe products
· Experience with DITA/XML content management is a plus
