Bring your Talent and Skills to Raytheon Intelligence, Information and Services (IIS) Technical Information Team.  We are seeking a recent college graduate to work as a Technical Editor / Writer I at our Burlington, MA location.

This position is an excellent opportunity for someone with well-developed written and verbal communication skills to begin a career in the aerospace-defense engineering environment supporting state-of-the art technology through development of hardware and software technical documentation for end-user operator installation, assembly, maintenance manuals and training materials.

The individual will work with other technical writers, logistic support personnel and system engineering organizations collecting and documenting system architecture, and developing applicable support technical manual and training documentation in accordance with defined standards and contractual requirements.

We are looking for someone who is a well-organized self-starter,  who able to work in a team environment, has good communication and technical skills, and can professionally interact with other organizations.

Required Skills:

Candidates must demonstrate a desire to, and an aptitude in, developing technical documentation, and technical writing.

Candidates must have good verbal and writing skills.

Candidates must have understanding or be willing to learn hardware or software engineering principles as well as the ability to read, understand and interpret engineering documentation.

Basic knowledge in the preparation, editing and grammar is required.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products including Word is required.

Must be willing and able to travel occasionally for business purposes.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:

Experience developing and writing technical documentation is desired.

Experience in military systems and/or technical manual standards are a plus.

Military experience in training or technical manual product development and delivery background is a plus.

Working knowledge of ETMs, IETMs, S1000D, SGML and XML is preferred.

Familiarity in use of modeling, animation and CAD tools such as Pro-Engineer, AutoCAD, Right Hemisphere and Solid Works is a plus.

A certificate in technical writing or equivalent is a plus.

Required Education:

Bachelors Degree in English, Journalism, equivalent Liberal Arts degree or Engineering degree obtained with the past 18 months.

Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (Please include your GPA with your resume)

Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement. Employment is contingent on other factors, including, but not limited to, background checks and drug screens.
