Full-Time Technical Editor (Ridgecrest, CA)

Job Description

Technical Editor responsible for all F-18 AWL documents, briefs, and manuals produced, maintained and utilized in a technical laboratory environment. 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Edit and make current AWL maintained manuals, briefs, plans and required documents such as the PPGM,SEPM, Metrics, Organizational Training Plan (OT) and the Systems Engineering Advancement (SEA) Plan.
  • Record, track and publish, as required, action items and minutes from required meetings and events.
  • Rebuild and edit SharePoint.
  • Prepare feature articles, assist the acquisition team in document preparation and edit software Block specific documents.
MINIMUM TANGIBLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  • United State Citizenship required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Twelve years work experience in the technical arena.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in technical writing and technical editing.
  • Expert competency in Microsoft Word.
  • Demonstrative communication skills.
  • Self-motivated independent worker.
  • The selected applicant will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Project and publishing software programs.
  • Technical experience related to the F/A-18 aircraft
  • Government acquisition experience
