SENIOR CONTENT STRATEGIST

Senior Content Strategists (Senior CSs) collaborate with strategists, designers, copywriters and developers to create and manage content that’s desirable, usable, sharable and discoverable. They are a key piece of a creative, idea-focused team that aspires to create award-winning work that impacts human behavior and helps our brands deliver on a purpose that’s larger than just “sell more product.” They identify, manage, and structure engaging and contextually appropriate content for medium to large projects and multiple projects across multiple client teams. They are also responsible for keeping their finger on the pulse of how content performs, recommending enhancements and course corrections as a project lives and breathes in a digital environment, so that content remains valuable to users and continues to pay off on client objectives. They often mentor other content strategists and educate others on the importance of content strategy.

Responsibilities include:
Create content strategies to define the what, how much, when, where, why and how for digital content across multiple channels
Brainstorm with integrated teams to guide and shape concepts
Lead or participate in content-related stakeholder interview identification, planning, facilitation and analysis
Assess existing client content to identify strengths, weaknesses, gaps and inconsistencies, as well as opportunities
Educate clients internal agency teams about why content strategy matters to our work and our clients. Provide thought leadership to develop POVs on key content issues like search, sharing, user-generated content, and content distribution
Design content that is structured and optimized for effective search, publication, and distribution
Identify common content requirements and publishing schedules for content distribution partnerships
Identify opportunities for content testing and measurement. Partner with the Analytics group to implement testing and measurement
Outline content maintenance processes and gain maintenance stakeholder buy in. Monitor and evolve ongoing processes
Develop and document editorial calendars
Identify new business opportunities

Experience/Requirements
6+ years experience in the following areas:
>Applying iterative, user-centered design principles to the design and development of digital content
>Managing processes governing development, publication, and distribution of digital content
Experience with content organization, presentation and workflow tools including Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio
Strong written and oral communications and presentations skills
Experience as primary Content Strategist on medium and large accounts
Solid interpersonal and teamwork abilities

Strong leadership and management skills
Demonstrated critical thinking ability

Education
Bachelor’s degree
Graduate degree (preferred) in English, Journalism, Media Studies, Library Sciences or related
