Full-Time Online Instructional Design Coordinator (Eugene, OR)

Job Description

The Office of Global and Online Education in the College of Education at the University of Oregon invites applications for its Oba Online Instructional Design Coordinator position.  Salary range will be $45,000-$70,000.

The Oba Online Instructional Design Coordinator will be responsible for ongoing professional development for the use of the Oba Learning Management System and online teaching; promote Oba LMS and other services through demonstrations/presentations and social media; develop activities within Oba to generate interaction and collaboration among users; and maintain the Global Education website with updates on department activities through articles and blogging.

Duties include providing professional development for online teaching and learning through trainings and tutorials; designing content for online educational activities; strategic planning and implementation for the use of social media in the development of an online educational community through online activities that foster interaction and collaboration among members; and maintaining the website for the Office of Global and Online Education.

Successful candidates are required to have a Master’s degree in education or closely related field; at least three years’ experience in curriculum development and instruction including at least two years of online course design and instruction for distance learners in distributed learning environments; teaching and leadership experience in K-12 or higher education setting; experience in providing professional development; expert understanding of mainstream and emerging social media communities, and demonstrated success in integrating social media in educational setting; exceptional writing, editing and speaking skills; ability to lead, influence, and collaborate with diverse groups of people; knowledge of Section 508 web accessibility requirements.  Preferred qualifications include five years’ or more K-12 teaching experience; current K-12 teaching license, higher education teaching or administrative experience; demonstrated capability of educating others about online community best practices; graphic design experience; multimedia authoring experience; and instructional design experience related to Moodle.
