Full-Time Junior Technical Writer – Marine Safety (Houston, TX)
Job Description
A Global Organization within the Marine & Offshore sectors is currently seeking a Technical Writer / Safety Specialist.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for improving the documentation of safety and quality of life at sea and on ships by researching and data mining for specific issues or instances from previous matters aboard vessels
- Responsible for designing guidelines for crew safety (technical writing based off findings from database)
- Responsible for sorting through records of injuries and accidents and using those items as examples for corrections and presentations to crew members before going offshore
- Responsible for identify issues causes these injuries and accidents and making corrective actions
Requirements:
- Candidates must have a USCG License or be aa recent maritime grad
- Candidates must be highly proficient in MS Office (Power Point and Excel) and be able to put together documentation and or presentations for crew members and executives for improvements
- Experience with technical documentation and writing.
The ideal candidate will comestraight out of school or someone with sea-time and also looking to focus on Maritime Safety.
