POSITION: Instructional Systems Specialist (REQ # 2480)

LOCATION: Quantico,

VA STATUS: Full time, Exempt

TRAVEL: negligible

Summary: The individual selected for this position will be responsible for needs analysis, design, development and evaluation of high-quality training solutions and supporting instructional materials for job specific and systems training to include training curriculums, compliance related training, new / upgraded technology applications. Training solutions that are developed will include job specific training plans, instructor-led, web-based training, mobile learning, job aids and other creative learning as determined by the client.

Essential Job Functions:

•In collaboration with the client and Manpower, Personnel & Training Analyst (MP&TA), assist with the design of the entire curriculum for the assigned program, determining the knowledge, skills and abilities (KSA) required to complete job tasks efficiently and effectively.
•Assist in the development of all course material including planning documents, student and Instructor materials and course presentations. •Manage the instructional design aspects of the curriculum development process in order to design and develop instructionally sound and technically accurate training material.
•Assist with the development of the overall project plan for curriculum development and changes to the curriculum in line with the ADDIE model, SAT process and overall project timeline.
•High comfort level with new and emerging technology and ability to quickly learn and utilize new software applications.
•Possess exceptional project and time management skills to include the ability to effectively organize work, prioritize and manage time in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
•Ability to obtain and maintain any clearances, statuses, licenses, or determinations as required by the client
•Maintains regular work schedule.
•Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility: This position may have supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is sedentary work which requires the following physical activities: reaching, sifting, lifting, finger dexterity, grasping, feeling, repetitive motions, talking, hearing and visual acuity.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a regular, full-time position. Work days are normally Monday through Friday, core hours as required.

Required Skills and Abilities:
•4 years’ experience with the USMC Systems Approach to Training (SAT) and Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation (ADDIE) process.
•4 years’ experience with industry best practices to ensure quality and effectiveness of learning deliverables.
•Must be able to work independently, detail oriented and organized.
•Knowledge of current and future Instructional Systems Design technologies (to include e- learning, mobile learning)
•Working knowledge of DoD training programs and DoD 5000 and terminology.
•Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word.

Travel:
Minimal travel may be required.

Required Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience with emphasis in instructional design, instructional technology or education related discipline. 5 years curriculum design and development experience with at least 3 years’ experience in a training environment, preferably within DoD.

Preferred Education and Experience:
•Collaborate and conduct needs assessments with diverse subject matter experts.
•Design curriculum, programs, or learning solutions as appropriate.
•Design and develop instructional materials.
•Partner with potential e-learning developer to design and develop online courses.
•Maintain all training curriculums and provide recommendations based on business needs
•4 yrs. experience implementing training solutions including needs analysis, instructional design, facilitation and evaluation.
•Highly motivated individual with proven experience applying instructional design principles resulting in the implementation of effective training solutions
•Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain key relationships with project owners and subject matter experts. •Candidate must be able to demonstrate effective presentation/facilitation skills, oral and written communication skills and strong technical skills •Ability to effectively use web/video conferencing to deliver training
•Experience developing and managing curriculums based on position specific needs
•Demonstrates ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects
•Process and project management experience
•Critical thinker with demonstrated creative problem solving skills
