Full-Time Instructional Design & Training Development Manager (Clovis, CA)
Job Description
Schneider Electric has an outstanding opportunity for a passionate and motivated individual to assume the role of Instructional Design & Training Development Manager in our Clovis, CA location.
This role will be responsible for Managing the instructional design and development team who develop and maintain training curricula and courses for Pelco products and systems and supporting technologies. Manage developers creating online and ILT courses for technical support at L1, L2 and L3 levels, sales training for internal audiences, and customer-facing technical training for Pelco products and systems. Manage eLearning development and maintenance of a large existing library of online training; supervise the creative team, including graphics design and technical writing. Manage creation and maintenance of tests and exams, using best practices in assessment design. Work collaboratively and manage project teams developing courses that include SME’s, trainers, technical support staff and engineers to ensure course content is comprehensive, technically accurate, and presented in a way that engages the learner. Utilizes industry-standard course development processes and project management practices to ensure training development is delivered in alignment with product launches and stakeholder needs.
Qualifications
• 5+ years experience in instructional design for technical products and systems
• 3+ years experience supervising or managing an instructional design team
• Experience developing both ILT and eLearning courses for the adult learner
• Solid understanding of instructional design principles – Instructional Systems Design, ADDIE, adult learning principles
• Understanding of exam writing principles and how to construct valid, reliable exams
• Demonstrated project management skills and demonstrated ability to work with SME’s, technical support experts, and engineering to create content. PMI certification highly desirable.
• Strong technical writing and editing skills; must possess excellent written communications skills (English).
• Solid technical background in electronics, computing and networking. Background in Pelco products and systems is highly desirable.
• Ability to evaluate and deploy new training development tools and systems, like Articulate.
• Understanding of learning management systems as related to deploying content.
