Job Description |
JOB SUMMARYThe Documentation Specialist/ Tech Writer is a motivated, user-oriented, passionate individual who can bring their strong written communication skills and usability focus to our Software-as-a-Service development teams. This individual, who will report to the Sr. Director of Web Development, will understand the needs of physician practice and patients when using Vitera’s web-based products and will design and implement a communication solution that delivers the right information at the right time in the right place and with the right amount of information to these users, who will not take the time to read an online help ‘manual’.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
- Work with customer-facing team members and Business Analysts to better understand user-needs.
- Work within an agile SCRUM product development framework and team, promoting an atmosphere of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with stakeholders throughout the organization.
- Keep abreast of the latest technology for efficiently developing and delivering helpful right-time/right-place/right-amount of information on-line to physicians and patients.
- Other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Skills/Requirements |
QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing or equivalent.
- EXPERIENCE: 3-5 years of experience in professional written communication.
- Preferred experience includes web-based software technical writing.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Strong computer knowledge including: MS Office applications; help authoring software (such as RoboHelp), authoring and publishing software (such as Adobe FrameMaker).
- Ability to evaluate user communication needs and create cost-effective solutions to effectively meet those needs.
- Ability to plan, scope and estimate duration for documentation projects.
- Familiarity with dynamic content delivery systems.
- Ability to take initiative, be detail-minded and possess the ability to handle multiple assignments at once while meeting strict deadlines.
