Job Summary: The instructional designer is responsible for interpreting needs assessments, and developing and evaluating training courses that will result in effective adult learning; leading to attaining desired training outcomes, effective transfer of learning and readiness to execute.Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create, develop and deliver learning curriculums and competency based instruction modules in English and Spanish
- Collaborate with the training team as it relates to project prioritization, content development, delivery methods
- Solicit and participate in discussions with subject matter experts to identify objectives and develop content for instructional media
- Assist in assessing and selecting 3rd-party groups to develop curriculum as needed
- Understand target audiences to assess needs and design course curriculums
- Evaluate and update existing course content and keep historical material up-to-date
- Makes revisions to materials as needed, based on feedback and data analysis, to optimize learning performance
- Creates media to support learning as needed (e.g. job aids, reference guides and manuals)
- Develops assessments, in English and Spanish, that demonstrate knowledge transfer
- Analyzes data to identify topics for content revision and rewrite
- Adapts instructional materials for delivery face-to-face and online as needed in both languages, English and Spanish
- Ensure the production of learning tools and materials are functional, intuitive, informative, and consistent with sound instructional design and learning principles; support innovation and continuous improvement initiatives across training curses.
- May deliver training to business units comfortably in English and Spanish
- Works under limited supervision
- Performs analysis of the customer’s training needs to determine if training will be an effective and efficient method of performance intervention, and recommends the appropriate learning approaches.
- Assesses needs to determine appropriate response (job aid, training course, etc.), and design accordingly, recognizing various delivery methodologies
- Develops training materials for leadership development, technical skills, products, services, promotions, operations, and/or leadership training in English and Spanish
- Independently assess customer needs and design and implement customized solutions
- Initiates project scope agreements and meets with all stakeholders and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to establish project timelines, determine method of delivery, and clarify the work process and responsibilities.
- Designs and develops interactive and engaging instructor led training, e-learning, webinar, and blended training content, based on the needs of the target audience. (English and Spanish)
- Reviews training content in each stage of design storyboard for quality control purpose.
- Conducts Kirkpatrick’s four-level evaluations to monitor and report on the effectiveness of training for the clients in achieving learning and performance goals.
- Overall duties include analyzing, designing, developing, implementing and evaluating (ADDIE) all training courses
- Develop training content by applying knowledge of adult learning practices, theories, and programs to a culturally diverse pool of employees
- Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years in instructional design developing training related content; retail, food or hospitality industry preferred.
- Able to proficiently write, speak, understand and translate Spanish and English
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability to travel with overnight stay
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Training, HR Development, Communication, Psychology, Adult Learning, Technical Writing or equivalent experience.
