The Global RFP & Consultant Data Services Group has in excess of 40 staff in multiple locations across Asia, Europe and the United States, writing RFPs and other new business and existing client submissions across a broad range of equity, fixed income, real estate and alternative strategies for institutional and retail clients. The group also manages submissions of Franklin Templeton firm and product information to online databases globally.

The Associate Content Writer is an individual contributor role with responsibility for driving quality of proposal content through the process of sourcing, writing, editing and maintaining standard responses held in the team’s centralized content database. The role is highly interactive and requires close collaboration with team members and business partners across the globe. The role also has a strong database administration component, with the Associate Content Writer contributing greatly to both the editorial and administrative aspects of proposal software-related procedures and processes. In addition, the role includes project management responsibilities and participation in ongoing initiatives to support global business requirements.

Responsibilities include:

Content Maintenance & Development:
Complete content updates for assigned sections of the content database on quarterly and annual cycles, and on an ad hoc basis as needed.
Analyze, edit and proofread content in accordance with review schedules, ensuring accuracy and consistency with corporate initiatives, marketing collateral, live RFP questionnaires, and house styles in all written work.
Work closely with Subject Matter Experts throughout the organization to source and update information. Provide feedback to Proposal Specialists on updates captured that may impact questionnaires in progress.
Demonstrate resourcefulness and analytical abilities in evaluating existing content sections and creating new sections or individual responses, tapping into information sources firm-wide and externally as needed.
Demonstrate keen understanding of live RFP questions by creating response title labels that capture key concepts.
Ensure a consistent message is conveyed that highlights the firm’s competitive advantages.
Prepare final drafts for review and approval by the team manager and/or SME, when appropriate.
Meet specified deadlines, and also pro-actively assess need for updates as changes occur outside predetermined time frames.
Examples include responding quickly to personnel changes and other unanticipated corporate announcements by assessing content impact and implementing changes in an efficient and timely manner.
Assess and action feedback logs for assigned sections, evaluating SME feedback channeled through Proposal Specialists and Product Specialists via live RFP process.
Consider broader implications of content changes, discussing these with the team manager as needed, and communicating key content changes to Content Team, Senior Product Specialists and broader RFP/CDS team.
Database Administration:
Leverage proposal software technology, maintaining ownership of record information in firm sections, and product sections as assigned.
Oversee accuracy of custom metadata, included, but not limited to source, Subject Matter Expert, critical note, expiration date, review cycle, and review group information.
Update and revise metadata and variable information as needed in firm sections and in product sections as assigned, such as original source, review cycle, or SME changes.
On a quarterly basis, update variable information as needed in firm and product sections as assigned.
Assume responsibility for the above in relation to all content development and maintenance projects, and feedback logs.
Organize Firm Information sections in a logical manner, with a strong focus on creating ease of search functionality for Proposal Specialists and other end users.
Consider end user benefits in all aspects of the above.
Support Content Writers in creating and updating metadata for product sections as needed.
Run system reports to support team’s data gathering and communication efforts. Distribute reports to various recipient groups.
Communication and Information Sharing Internal & External to Content Team:
Collaborate with Content Management Team members to identify priorities and plan projects.
Contribute to weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports and data analysis, as well as other team communications, running reports and providing perspective and input as needed.
Track and report on activities and provide frequent project status updates to team manager, Content Team, and team members and external business partners as needed.
Demonstrate initiative in alerting RFP/CDS team of key developments, consulting with Content Team Manager as needed.
Work with Standard RFP documents on a quarterly basis to post to Global Marketing Portal, and communicate with teams regarding status and availability of these documents.
Actively participate in team meetings.
Provide software training when needed for new and existing user groups.
Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have:

Education & Experience:
3-5 years of writing experience in financial services or asset management environment
Experience in building relationships with internal subject matter experts to extract relevant and timely information.
Solid foundation of knowledge of financial markets and asset classes.
University degree or equivalent knowledge and experience.
Additional Desirable Qualifications:
Exposure to the institutional and retail investment management business, in an international environment
Proficiency in use of proposal software
Portuguese language of interest
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
General understanding of institutional and retail asset management, plus knowledge of financial markets across asset classes.
Experience in sourcing and writing new material of high editorial quality.
Team player capable of building and maintaining strong working relationships and interacting professionally at all levels of seniority and across multiple cultures.
Strong verbal and written communication skills, plus strong proofreading skills.
Strong research and analytical skills, able to present ideas and follow issues to a successful conclusion.
Meticulous attention to detail and keen eye for consistency and accuracy.
Exceptional multi-tasking, time management, project management, and organizational skills.
Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook.
Flexible and adaptable, demonstrated ability to adjust to changes in workflow and succeed in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to meet tight deadlines.
Proficient with statistical information, able to interpret data and used it to provide evidence in support of written statements.
Familiarity with proposal software (or ability to master quickly),
Microsoft Office skills, particularly MS Word and PowerPoint.
Self-starter with strong work ethic and genuine interest in learning.
