Full-Time Technical Writer

Job Description

The Space Dynamics Laboratory seeks experienced technical writers to document software and hardware for end users. Responsibilities include researching, writing, formatting, and editing materials such as user guides, manuals, presentations, complex technical reports, status reports, and training materials. Must be able to meet tight deadlines and work with little direct supervision.
Position will require a high-energy, self-starter with excellent verbal and written communications skills. Must be able to work confidently as a solo-writer and in team situations: SDL’s writers work directly with engineers, scientists, program managers, and fellow technical writers, as well as independently, to develop documentation from the ground up. Versatility in writing styles and the ability to contribute to proposal and marketing efforts are advantageous. Experience in aerospace or other engineering field is highly desirable.
Min. Req.: BS in technical or communications field, professional technical writing experience, and advanced computer skills using Microsoft Office Suite (FrameMaker and graphics experience a plus). The successful candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and able to obtain a U.S. Government Security Clearance.
