Full-Time Technical Writer

About the job:
Rocket Software is looking for an experienced technical writer to join our global team of information developers.
- Preferred Skills:
Ability to work with a multi-disciplinary team to create new documentation and update and expand existing documentation
Ability to write technical documentation that is clear, concise, consistent, and accurate
Aptitude for reviewing product specs, interviewing subject matter experts, and installing and using the product
Experience delivering content through a variety of methods including onscreen text, context-sensitive help, and technical guides
Excellent time management skills, and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to be flexible and to prioritize tasks appropriately
Ability to work in teams with moderate supervision
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Knowledge of IBM i and mainframe operating systems, such as IBM z/OS, Oracle VM, and IBM z/VSE.
Previous experience with terminal emulation products or file transfer products is a plus
Previous experience writing for mobile applications and creating videos is a plus
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree
3 – 5 years of experience writing technical software documentation
Experience authoring documentation in DITA
