POSITION PURPOSE:
Oregon Lottery’s online presence is comprised primarily of 1) Lottery Web Site (internet) which provides information and interactive programs to players, retailers and the public regarding the Lottery’s games, purpose, and operations, 2) Promotional sites which are developed to support limited time promotional activity, 3) Social media pages (currently in development), 4) Retailer Cooperative Marketing site (currently in development). 5) Intranet which provides information and collaboration tools for employees. The Online Content Specialist sources and creates content for all of the Lotteries online sites and pages. The work includes, but is not limited to, analysis of social media tool for topical content, content creation for all sites and pages, responding to social media posts, and the development of new forms and channels for content.

JOB SCOPE:
Under general direction from the Online Marketing Manager, and in conjunction with the Online team members, this position requires the ability to work independently and with others, within specific or general guidelines, while making independent decisions based on a thorough knowledge of web site components and web site operation and design.


Skill Requirements
RECOMMENDED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college, university, or private vocational school with an emphasis in Journalism, Creative Writing and Content Development or other related field and at least 3 years of experience with online marketing; ORSix years of experience in content development for online marketing.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
• Demonstrated skill in writing for websites.
• Demonstrated ability manage Social media content.
• Demonstrated ability in creating content for multi-media.
• Demonstrated oral and written communication skills.

• Demonstrated skill in exercising independent judgment in making appropriate decisions concerning work methods and strategies, performing multiple and diversified tasks while working with conflicting priorities, and meeting deadlines.
