Full-Time Content Manager & Lead Copywriter (Washington, D.C.)

Job Description

The Content Manager & Lead Copywriter will be responsible for devising the strategy of all content used for our organizations marketing and promotional materials and will create compelling and inspiring content for company websites, printed advertorial ads, printed and online tools and various other marketing and promotional materials. Emphasis will be given to clarity and accuracy of messages to stakeholders that include high-level public officials, corporate executives, and leaders of international organizations. In addition this position requires acting as the Lead Copywriter and editor for the global organization’s communication materials. The position requires excellent written communication skills in English with an in-depth experience in writing for business economics, ideally in the technology or logistics industry. The Content Manager & Lead Copywriter will be part of the global organizations Marketing Communications team.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Devising content strategy for company websites, corporate presentations, videos, reports, online tools and other promotional materials ensuring the core message is conveyed to the target audience in an inspiring and compelling manner.
  • Creating and developing content for the corporate website, other promotion materials and online publications.
  • Ensuring that the organisation’s websites are written in a manner that is powerful, accessible, and as user-friendly as possible.
  • Implementing the information architecture of the organisation’s website ensuring ease of navigation for visitors.
  • Maintaining website content to ensure that it is current and sustains high impact over time. Editing and updating on short notice is required.

  • Editing and proofreading all corporate and promotional content and maintaining consistency throughout all our corporate communication materials.
  • Working with a cross-departmental team, maintaining and developing the master content calendar for all web properties.
  • Optimizing the “soft” design of the websites.
  • Assisting in development of marketing campaigns, newsletters, social media, print, etc.
  • Overseeing freelancers, including writers, external copyeditors and content partnerships (in the future).

APPOINTMENT CRITERIA
Qualification & Experience

  • Dynamic, self-motivated individual with a demonstrated skill in “Wall Street Journal” level writing, as well as web & online content management
  • Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in English, journalism, technical writing or a related
  • Track records as Copywriter and Content Manager or similar experience
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in online content management, copy writing and editing role

Competencies/Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication and organizational skills, evident in proven experience producing well-written business periodicals or corporate websites.
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML and experience with popular content management systems.
  • Extensive experience in web publications and editing.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Advanced knowledge /use of publishing technology applications.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, well-adapted to working in a dynamic team setting.
